Esports
Here to register for Esports? Great, you’re in the right place.
Video games may not be a physical sport like soccer or baseball, but they still contain plenty of competition and intensity, so we call them Esports.
Think your child gets too much screen time at home? Have them come share that screen time with friends here at the YMCA. Our Esports space is open to the sweatiest of try-hards, and to those just looking for a casual gaming sesh. Expect to improve your skills, and have a great time.
Listed below are all of our Esport programs and their descriptions. Check them out and maybe you’ll find one for you!
Casual Fortnite - Winter 2
Dates/Times: Jan 12 – March 6 ; Thursdays 6 – 7:30pm
Cost: Member $50 – Community Participant $65
Description: In this Casual Fortnite program we plan to play group mini-games, unranked, ranked (if they desire), approved custom maps, and explore the list of fun game modes Fortnite has to offer.
“I like to play Fortnite competitively. Am I still welcome to join?” – Yes, but be prepared to not just grind out your rank or compete in Cash Cups during our sessions. Our YMCA Esports staff will decide which activities/game modes we will playing as a class.
Participants will be playing on our gaming PCs, and all equipment is provided. Bring in your own controller/keyboard at your own risk.
Ages: 8+ ( Lower ages need approval from Parents)

This program is to confirm high school esports players when visiting the YMCA for practice/game times only, unless they are a member.
Players can be community participants or members.
– Has to attend Janesville Parker or Janesville Craig Highschool
– Has to sign YMCA and Esports code of Conduct
– Community participants can only be here for practice/game time: Mon. Wed. Thurs. 3:45 – 5:30pm

Minecraft Educational - Winter 2
Dates/Time: January 12 – March 6 ; Tuesdays 5:45pm – 7pm
Cost: $45 Member $60 Community Participant
Description: This Minecraft Educational Program will consist of 8 once a week sessions of structured fun. Your child will be playing Java or Bedrock Minecraft on our gaming computers with kids in their age range. Our Esports staff will be teaching everything from the basics of survival, building tips, redstone contraptions, and expanding their creative mindset.
All supplies and accounts are provided by the YMCA.

Youth Rocket League - Winter 2
Dates/Times: Jan 12 – March 6 ; Wednesdays 5:45 – 7:00pm
Cost: Member $40 – Community Participant $50
Description: Rocket League is a car soccer video game for all ages that is full of mechanical skill and teamwork. Join our Youth Rocket League program where we’ll learn the basics, practice, make friends, and cover many core Esport attributes. All skill levels are encouraged to join.
Participants will be playing on our gaming PCs, and all equipment is provided. Bring in your own controller/keyboard at your own risk.
