Esports
Here to register for Esports? Great, you’re in the right place.
Video games may not be a physical sport like soccer or baseball, but they still contain plenty of competition and intensity, so we call them Esports.
Think your child gets too much screen time at home? Have them come share that screen time with friends here at the YMCA. Our Esports space is open to the sweatiest of try-hards, and to those just looking for a casual gaming sesh. Expect to improve your skills, and have a great time.
Listed below are all of our Esport programs and their descriptions. Check them out and maybe you’ll find one for you!
Fortnite League - Group 1
Dates/Times:
September 23 – November 15
Every Monday & Wednesday; Every OTHER Friday 5-7pm (Game/Event Days)
6:00pm – 7:30pm
Description: Does your child “crank 90s” or casually play Fortnite at home? Sign them up for a fun filled Esports program at your local YMCA. NRC Esports welcomes serious players who want to improve and compete and those are just looking to make friends over some video games. During this program we will meet for practices 2-3 times a week, improving on personal game skills, but also team orientated skills (communication, game awareness, teamwork, leadership, etc.).
This program is primarily focused on Fortnite, but we may take breaks and play other Esports from time to time. If you want to get involved with Esports, but not interested in committing to a Fortnite League then I recommend checking out our Open Play opportunities.
Extra Info:
All Esport practices will be in the Esports Tech Lab at the Janesville YMCA. All equipment is provided, but bringing your own controller or mouse and keyboard is allowed. Remember to bring your login information (Epic games, PlayStation, etc). so the players can play on their own personal accounts, otherwise we some they can use .
