Esports
Here to register for Esports? Great, you’re in the right place.
Video games may not be a physical sport like soccer or baseball, but they still contain plenty of competition and intensity, so we call them Esports.
Think your child gets too much screen time at home? Have them come share that screen time with friends here at the YMCA. Our Esports space is open to the sweatiest of try-hards, and to those just looking for a casual gaming sesh. Expect to improve your skills, and have a great time.
Listed below are all of our Esport programs and their descriptions. Check them out and maybe you’ll find one for you!
Build Box Labs (featuring CrunchLabs)
CrunchLabs at the YMCA: Think Like an Engineer!
Get ready to ignite your child’s curiosity with our Buildbox Labs program at the Janesville YMCA! Inspired by former NASA engineer and YouTube sensation Mark Rober, CrunchLabs offers hands-on STEM experiences that encourage kids to think, build, and innovate like real engineers.

In this class, “builders” will be assembling Crunch Labs. We will meet in the Esports Lab, and construct in a conference room with plenty of table space, and then go to a room or gymnasium for testing if space is needed.
Participants will get to take home the projects/boxes (completed or not). Any remaining time will be spent enjoying our builds or watching Mark Rober’s YouTube videos as a class.
Zach Herin, our Esports Program Coordinator, will lead the class and assist throughout the build.
